Pattern Design & Vessel Making Workshop
Children's workshop, 22 February 2018
The 'Shifting Lines' exhibition by Justine Allison was the inspiration for this children's workshop. The session began with drawing and planning a pattern to transfer onto a vessel. The drawn pattern design was placed in flat clay, and using an ordinary drinking glass as a template, a unique vessel with original pattern design was then built.
Adult Workshop | Ceramics for the Kitchen

This workshop was led by Daniel Butler and took place at Swansea College of Art UWTSD, Dynevor Campus, De La Beche Street, Swansea, SA1 3EU.
Day one saw participants guided through the making of a variety of kitchen ware, including tapas bowls, cups, spoons and serving platters. A range of techniques were explored, such as throwing at the wheel, using molds and hand construction methods. Day two was used for development, refining and decorating the work using slip and glaze techniques.

Inspired by The Language of Clay handling collection, Nantgaredig Speech and Language Unit created clay mugs. The handling collection includes items from all artists in the Language of Clay series, with a view to create better understanding of ceramics through touch.
